The week before Cashew was born we celebrated Wingnut’s birthday. As ready as I was to have the baby I’m grateful Cashew and Wingnut don’t share a birthday. On his birthday we took Peanut to preschool and ballet and I spent the afternoon making cupcakes for after dinner. Wingnut requested a “black cake” for his [...] Neither Peanut nor Wingnut have inherited my skim-milk skin. We thought Peanut might have at first because she was so pale when she was born. Even the nurses in the hospital commented on it. Her heart rate had dropped during my contractions before they finally did my c-section so they kept her for observation for [...] On Saturdays ODD can only sleep in so long. His internal clock is so accustomed to waking up early that he can’t manage to sleep in very long. I, on the other hand, would sleep until 11 if left to my own devices. Once ODD is up and banging around the house it doesn’t take [...] For the last few months ODD and I have been making an effort to take the kids out on little dates once in a while so they can each get a little one-on-one time with us. Depending on what’s going on we switch of with each kid. While I took Wingnut to a birthday party [...] We attempted to grow pumpkins again this year and actually got a couple that were somewhat respectable. One of them didn’t turn orance but we carved them both anyway. The rest were bought at a little pumpkin patch in South Jordan. The Monday before Halloween we carved them all and put them on our porch. [...] |
