Just before Christmas ODD and I celebrated our tenth anniversary. For fun, I pulled out my wedding dress while I was at my parents’ house recently. Three babies later my ribs and chest are not the same size or shape they used to be. The bodice was fitted to my pre-nursing body. It still zips [...] I can’t remember why but sometime this summer ODD got it in his brain that we were in serious need of a canoe. We’ve never wanted a boat because they’re so much work, cost so much to maintain, and you have to take them out and use them to feel like they’re worthwhile. A canoe, [...] When ODD and I started dating in February of 2002 he wanted to be an LDS institute teacher. His dad had been one, he enjoyed teaching, and it seemed logical. After looking into it more he found he had to have another degree anyway and couldn’t even apply to the program (which is very competitive) [...] Growing up, my house didn’t have big trees that drop loads of leaves. I envied some neighbors up the street who had a couple of huge, leafy trees in their front yard because they always had heaps of leaves to play in. I had to make do with playing at the local elementary school playground [...] We celebrated ODD’s birthday on Saturday. Apparently turning 31 was easier for him than turning 30. We didn’t have any philosophical conversations about it and he didn’t blow a lot of money on model airplanes this year. I think that’s progress. It probably helps that he is almost done with residency so there’s some light [...] |
