Today I spent a few hours making some shoes for Wingnut.
I went on a quilting shop hop last week and picked up some fat quarters in some fun boyish prints so I could sew up some little boy shoes. I used the Stardust shoes pattern I used last time I made him some shoes. His feet have grown a bit so I had to enlarge the pattern. This time I actually paid attention to the placement of the tops so they each featured a little dinosaur.
I also tried a new (to me) shoe pattern. It’s from an Amy Butler book and I love the way they turned out. I actually made two pairs of these shoes because the first ones I made were too small for Wingnut’s fat, little feet. The second pair fits much better and is so cute. I’m thinking of adding a button to the strap but I’ll have to look through my button bucket to see what I have. I set up the pack-n-play in my room so he could nap in it while I sewed in his room. After I finished I got him up from his nap, showed him the shoes, and laid him down on the bed so I could put them on. He was really excited about them and grinned as he stuck his chunky foot up in the air so I could put the first shoe on. He’s been looking at them a smiling ever since. I’m pretty sure they are a hit.

I have that same green car fabric.
Cute job. I wish I’d known how to make those when I had little feet around the house.
So fun! Sweetums has outgrown those size five bicals, gimme a shout if you want them.
Ah, SUPER CUTE!
What a cute little man! It is so fun when you can tell they like what you gave them.
