Beehive Tea Room

Just before me moved from the Bay Area Peanut and I joined a few of our friends at Lovejoy’s Tea Room in San Francisco.  It was so much fun and I’ve been wanting to go to another tea room ever since.  My brother, Fuffy, has been to a couple in Salt Lake and told me he wanted to take me to his favorite one sometime.  This weekend he was in the area so this afternoon we went to the Beehive Tea Room.

ODD has today off so he came with us.  We ordered, then found a place in their shop to sit.

Before too long Peanut received her hot chocolate (yes, I know it’s May bit it was chilly today and she loved it), ODD received his water, and Fuffy and I got our tea.  Fuffy had lavender leaf tea and I had raspberry and mint.  They came in their own little pots with a tea strainer (the tea was loose) in the mouth.  After letting it steep for a few minutes we poured it into our cups.  It was so yummy and smelled good, too.

Pretty soon Peanut’s sandwich (cut into flower shapes), chips, and cookies arrived followed by Fuffy’s salad and ODD’s and my soups.

ODD got their tuna salad, Fuffy got the hummus, and I got the tomato all on croissants.  Fuffy and I shared half of our sandwiches with each other and they were both so good.

We all shared some lavender and white chocolate scones that were completely amazing and I may have to try re-creating them at home someday.

For dessert I ordered an orange petit four that completely rocked my world.  Oh. My. Word.  Talk about melt-in-your-mouth tastiness!

Together we all polished off a huge slice of chocolate cake that was so delicious I almost have no words.

I’m happy I finally got to go and I’m pretty sure I need to go again.  If you’re in the area you should really give it a try.  There are a few different rooms to have your tea in and the menu is just so yummy.  In the entryway there is a sample of each tea so you can smell the different kinds to help you decide what you might want to try.  The decor is funky and it’s just a fun place to lunch.  It was different from Lovejoy’s but still a very tasty, unique place to go.  Thanks for taking us, Fuffy!
