Now that I’ve got myself more organized, getting used to ODD’s new rotation, and have finished the 5th Fabelhaven book I’m finally getting around to posting again. This is probably going to be really dry but I just wanted to get it down for my own personal record.
ODD’s residency program has rules about exactly when and how much time he can take off for vacations but he was able to take the first and second off so in addition to the weekend we had four days to play as a family. After sleeping in ODD got the kids up and did the breakfast routine he usually reserves for Saturdays. When breakfast finished we packed a bunch of stuff and hit the road. We took a little trip to Riverdale Resort in Idaho to enjoy some swimming and spend the night. They have natural hot springs so we had a fun time soaking in the hot water and playing with the kids. Peanut braved the water by herself (where there weren’t bubbles) and went swimming on her own with the assistance of her water wings. Wingnut was more than happy to just lie back with his head on my shoulder and snuggle in the warm water with me. We had a tasty pizza dinner then watched a couple of movies before going to bed. The next morning we soaked in the hot springs a little more before checking out and heading to visit ODD’s family. Our favorite part of the trip was when Peanut loudly announced to a pool full of people that she had peed in a particular corner of the pool earlier in the day. Niiiiice.
We played with ODD’s parents and the Wild’s on Friday afternoon and most of Saturday. We colored Easter eggs with them, hid Easter candy, and filled Easter baskets. Wildbound zoned my feet on Saturday and we spent most of the day listening to the LDS General Conference. At one point, after a couple of days with no afternoon nap to speak of Peanut crawled under the dining room table to pout and ended up falling asleep.
On Saturday night while the boys went to the Priesthood session ODD’s mom joined my mom, Teeny, Peanut, Wingnut, and me at the Bluebird for our traditional Priesthood session girl’s night. For some reason I didn’t pull out the camera so I have no photographic evidence to share. After the outing we went to my parents’ house and colored more easter eggs, filled more easter baskets, and set out the new Easter Sunday clothes even though General Conference was continuing and the kids wouldn’t be wearing them. I’ll take pics of the kids in their new clothes tomorrow since it will be their first time wearing them because we were gone last Sunday (more on that still to come). On Sunday we listened to the rest of Conference and before heading home again.
It was nice to spend so much relaxing time together as a family. ODD’s schedule had been so time sucking he only got to see me every day and even that was only for a couple of hours before we both crashed. It will probably be our last vacation as a family until late summer if not later so I’m glad we took the time.

So fun and so glad we got to spend some of your vacation time with you! Love the photo of Baby Wingnut chilling in the pool with his mama.
I used to go there too when I was little!!!! Talk about the BEST get-away!!! How fun….and your eyes look poppin’ gorgeous in that picture…..AND you’re not wearing make-up……AND you look pretty…….AND I’m not sure if we can be friends anymore.
