Salmon for Dinner

Growing up my family didn’t eat fish much.  My mom is not a fan of seafood and the smell does her in.  My dad loves it, though, and I enjoy it here and there.  Since I didn’t see it cooked much growing up I don’t make fish very often now that I’m an adult.  ODD and I like to eat it, though, especially salmon.  It’s often on the expensive side so I don’t usually buy it but it was on sale this week so today I picked up a few fillets.  It’s been pretty nice outside and we pulled out the grill a few nights ago so I decided it would be yummy to barbecue them.  I made a mixture of butter, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic salt to baste the fish with and cooked it on a piece of heavy aluminum foil placed on the grill so the fish wouldn’t fall to pieces all over the place.  I also bought a pineapple today and grilled that as well to go with.  After the salmon was cooked I squeezed a little lemon over it and it was awesome.  Flaky, juicy, and oh, so tasty.  ODD happened to be able to drop by for about 45 minutes between clinic and a resident meeting so he lucked out and got some too.  He and I both loved it.  Peanut ate all hers without too much urging, but Wingnut would have none of it.  He did eat lots of the pineapple, though.

Followed by some orange ginger sorbet (oh, wow!) it was a great dinner.  I’m definitely going to be making this one again.
