Bittersweet Loss

Posted by hairyshoefairy on Sunday Jan 27, 2008 Under Changes

My mom just called and told me that the Prophet and President of our church just passed away.

I’m really sad about this because he lead the church during my teenage and adult years until now and I’ve become quite attached to him. Every time I heard him speak, both in person and on screen, I felt uplifted and was reminded of how much my Heavenly Father loves me. I will miss his positive outlook and delightful sense of humor.

His beloved wife passed on a few years ago and, though I’m sad, I’m happy he can be with her again. It’s been so long and I’m sure he’s missed her company terribly. Death like this, for me, is always bittersweet.

So sad; but I actually am really happy that he can finally be with his wife again. I have to say too, you are completely on top of things!

oh, so sad for his children, but hooray for him and his Marjorie. What a joyful reunion is taking place, probably right now!

I feel the same way, but he was surrounded by his family when he left mortality and returned back to our heavenly father, and he’s together again with his sweetheart!

I saw this on the news last night and it shocked me! Even though I knew he wouldn’t be here forever, it is weird to have him gone. He was a wonderful prophet and touched many lives. It is so great he is with his sweet wife again though.

I’m going to miss him. I was with Ted when I found out, it was really bittersweet. At least he is with his wonderful wife.
